2025 Survey: Language and Abuse in India

In 2025, a nationwide survey by Sunil Jaglan’s Gaali Bandh Ghar campaign gathered 70,000 responses, including 7,400 from Haryana. It found that 62% of Haryana respondents regularly used gender-based abusive language, with Delhi (80%) recording the highest prevalence and Kashmir (15%) the lowest. The survey also revealed that 30% of women tolerated or used abusive words, 20% of youth were influenced by online games and media, and 30% of people associated abusive content with humor. The findings highlight the urgent need for awareness and community-led efforts to build respectful, abuse-free communication across India.
